About the Group
The Drax Power Group is a member of the Electricity Supply Pension Scheme (ESPS).
The ESPS is an industry-wide pension scheme set up in 1983. It is available to all workers in the electricity industry, and is made up of companies formed after privatisation in 1990, or their successors.
Each company in the ESPS set up their own Group to allow current members to continue building up their benefits. The companies could choose whether to close their Group to new joiners from 31 March 1990.
The Drax Group remained open to new employees until 31 December 2001.
